Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Concord, MA



aPriori is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Director of FP&A to own our financial planning and analysis function.  The Director of FP&A will partner with the VP of Finance to drive company budgeting and forecasting processes, support financial reporting and planning efforts. This is a newly created individual contributor role, and aPriori’s first “FP&A” team member.  The key to success in this role will be your ability to develop a deep understanding of aPriori from a financial and operational perspective and apply that knowledge to develop data driven projections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead near-term and long-term planning, budgeting and forecasting processes to create reliable and accurate financial forecasts (Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow) – including complex revenue modeling
  • Own and continuously improve financial models in Adaptive Insights
  • Develop and analyze dashboards that measure key business metrics to help executive team assess financial performance
  • Develop and publish monthly reporting packages, including narratives and commentary, to executive leadership and external stakeholders such as the Board of Directors
  • Continuously analyze actual vs. budget results and variances to identify key trends or areas of risk
  • Support functional department managers with trend and variance analysis
  • Liase with investors to provide reporting and fulfill ad hoc requests
  • Identify and champion initiatives to automate financial planning and data systems
  • Support modeling and analysis related to forecasting, sales capacity and quota planning
  • Streamline the forecast process, increase forecast accuracy and create alignment across various departments and stakeholders
  • Develop sophisticated financial models to support decision making and strategic initiatives
  • Benchmark financial results against comparable companies

About You:

  • 5+ years of work experience in FP&A or similar roles at a B2B SaaS company
  • Proficiency in Adaptive Insights, NetSuite and
  • Experience with Tableau a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline required
  • Solid foundational accounting background
  • Strong understanding of proper revenue accounting processes for enterprise software companies under ASC-606
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels
  • Comfort and experience working in a startup organization where multi-tasking, learning quickly, problem-solving and rolling up your sleeves to get things done are expected
  • Post COVID, we prefer someone that will commute to our headquarters in Concord, MA
