World’s Top EV Manufacturer Selects aPriori to Accelerate Profitable Product Delivery

The Chassis Design Engineering team at one of the world’s most advanced EV Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) recently selected aPriori to help develop innovative product designs and speed time to market.

In the world of automotive EV manufacturing, getting innovative ideas to market faster than your competitors is critical. Furthermore, doing this while maintaining a profitable outcome is a balancing act that few can achieve.

aPriori was recently selected to help the chassis design engineering team develop innovative product designs and speed time to market. The biggest challenge before aPriori was that Design Engineers within this company tended to be younger with limited manufacturing experience. This led to a sub-optimal process where Senior Managers, Directors, and sometimes VPs of Engineering would be required to review all new designs manually. Manufacturability feedback was typically only received from suppliers after pushing designs into the supply base. This operational model negatively impacted their ability to innovate at speed.

Once aPriori is implemented, digital factories will enable these engineers to capture the design and manufacturing intelligence of their most senior engineers, and then leverage this information across the entire department of younger, less experienced engineers.  Teams can set target costs for new projects and always know whether the design is over or under the target cost.  This Design to Cost (DTC)/Design for Manufacturability (DFM) strategy enables customers to significantly reduce the time and cost associated with Engineering Change Orders, while onboarding newer engineers more efficiently.  This, in turn, enables project teams to “get it right the first time” and accelerate innovative, profitable products to market faster than any other competitor.
