Switching Scenarios in Assembly/Roll-up Details view
When in Assembly Details or Roll-up Details view, you have the option of selecting a number of sub-components and changing all of them to either a specific scenario, or to each of their official scenarios.
The possible scenarios to switch to include those that exist for each selected component. For example, if "prelim" exists for all selected components, then that will show as an option. If "myCopy" only exists in one of the selected components, then it will not show up as an option.
In addition to the common scenarios, the top of the pop-out menu also shows "Official Scenario (<various>)". This allows you to switch to the official scenario for all selected components.
Note: There is a difference between selecting the scenario “Initial” and the official scenario which happens to also be “Initial”. Selecting the official one will put parentheses “( )” around the name in the viewer and more importantly it will “float”. That is, if someone changes what the official scenario is, it will automatically update in the respective assemblies. If just “Initial” is selected then it will not float.
When multiple components are selected, the pop out menu does not display a green status dot next to the currently selected scenario, since the status could be different for each component. A green dot appears only when one component is selected.
Similarly, if only one component is selected, aPriori displays its official scenario name at the top of the pop-out menu. Otherwise, (<various>) is shown.
If you attempt to switch to an inactive scenario, aPriori warns you that the geometry may not be up to date. See Active and inactive scenarios on page 1 for more information.
Note: When only one component is selected, the popup menu will provide a
Show More >> option. This displays the standard Search dialog, but with the Name/Part # and Component Type: fields pre-populated and uneditable. See Using the Search tool on page 1 for more information.
To switch scenarios of assembly components
1 From the Cost Object section of the Assembly Details view, select a component.
2 Right-click and select Switch Scenario.
3 Select either Official Scenario at the top of the pop-out menu, or one of the options listed below Select Specific Scenario.
Note: You can select multiple components and change all of them to their Official scenario(s).
Non-official scenarios are not available during multi-select.
