Opening a component in aPriori
When you open a component in aPriori Desktop, a new scenario tab opens for the component. The name of the component is shown on the tab label. The name of the scenario is shown in parenthesis next to the component name.
The component also displays in the Navigation pane if displayed.
You can open multiple components and multiple scenarios for the same component in multiple tabs. To switch from one component or scenario to another, click on the corresponding tab. In Direct Integration mode, you can also switch to a component by activating the component in the CAD tool. See also Component scenario tabs on page 1 and Working with scenarios on page 1.
Note: You cannot simultaneously open two parts with the same name, but which exist in different directories. One example of this situation is obvious: if you open a component in aPriori, and then try to open a same-named component from a different directory, aPriori displays an error message. A less obvious example of this situation can occur with assemblies: If you have a CAD assembly that has subcomponents with the same name but which reside in different directories, and you try to open this in aPriori, you will get an explanatory error message. To work around this situation, you must ensure that the CAD assembly does not specify same-named sub-components from different directories.
