EMEA STARS Customer Conference Wrap-Up

FavoriteLoadingAdd to favorites

On Wednesday and Thursday, January 14 & 15, our friends at ThyssenKrupp hosted our 2nd Annual EMEA STARS Customer Conference in Essen, Germany. By all measures, the event was a big success. The 20 person strong aPriori Team was joined by more than 60 attendees from 26 different companies that flew in from 11 different countries across Europe.

Day 1 of the conference featured case studies from Mattijn de Graaf of ThyssenKrupp Elevators who described the success and challenges of scaling an Product Cost Management deployment across the globe. The first day of our conference also featured David Wills from Jungheinrich, who talked about some of the success of their deployment, and how their partnership with aPriori has resulted in a significantly expanded and more flexible Overhead model that will be launched with aPriori 2015 R1. Other great presentations on Day 1 included:

  • Where Will You Go From Here? A visionary presentation from aPriori’s CEO Stephanie Feraday that illuminated the audience on how a Product Cost Management solution that spans your Enterprise can drive significantly greater Return on Investment.
  • aPriori 2015 R1 Product Launch & Roadmap Review
  • a Comprehensive Track of Presentations around using aPriori to achieve Target Costs in New Product Initiatives
  • a second Track for Project Leaders that featured the rollout of aPriori’s new methodology for Managing Costing Projects and Integrating aPriori into Your Business Processes

When the first day was over, the entire group boarded a fleet of buses and headed to the Casino Zollverein restaurant where old friendships were rekindled, and new friendships were forged among both aPriori Staff and Customers alike.

The second day of the conference featured a rousing presentation by Eric Bocher from Alstom Transportation about the significant progress they were making helping Engineering gain a greater appreciation of cost drivers, and avoid adding design features that increased manufacturing costs. Day 2 also featured a wide array of technical workshops, including Commodity Focused workshops around Machining and Wire Harness manufacturing.

aPriori is enormously grateful to the team from ThyssenKrupp for hosting us, and we are also very thankful to have so many forward thinking customers that are pushing the boundaries of Enterprise Cost Management, and driving exceptional value for their companies.
