Administrative Enhancements
aPriori 2019 R2 provides several enhancements concerning administration of aPriori deployments and data:
It now is possible to provide more granular levels of administrative access to all the different tools available within the aPriori VPE Toolset (VPE Manager, Cost Model Workbench, Process Group Site Variables, Deployment Data, and BOM Loader) and the aPriori System Admin Toolset (System Administrator and Migration Import Tool). This allows companies to distribute the tasks involved in managing an aPriori deployment to multiple individuals while still ensuring their data is protected. For example, you can grant an administrator the permission to Add Users to a Group, but not allow that user to add or edit the access control rules for that group.
These more granular permissions are added by default when you perform a new installation of aPriori 2019 R2 or if you perform a Baseline Update. For more information about this capability and guidance on adding these new permissions to an existing access control model, please refer to the Access Control chapter in Version 2019 R2 of the aPriori Professional System Administration Guide.
A new Installer is available for aPriori Professional 2019 R2 which enables various settings to be specified during the installation process and preserved when upgrading to a newer version of aPriori. These settings include:
o Settings in apriori.properties or user.apriori.properties such as production information defaults, scenario naming conventions, and various others (16 properties in total)
o Bulk Costing and Analysis properties such as default batch size, watchpoint file name and many others (30 properties in total)
o Memory allocation settings
NOTE: The syntax for a silent client installation command is updated. For more information, see the aPriori Professional Installation Guide.
