Select Destination Directory

The Setup Wizard allows you to select the destination directory for the aPriori Professional installation. The Wizard also lists the version and location of any prior installations, which it identifies by examining your environment. The directory for each prior installation includes the initialization (.ini) settings file for that installation.

For the new installation, you can:
Use a preloaded initialization file.
Create a new initialization file based on values that you specify during the installation.
Use the initialization file from a prior installation.

1 Enter, or Browse to, the directory where you want the new installation to reside.
2 To use:
a. A preloaded initialization file or to create a new initialization file based on values that you specify during the installation, click Next
b. An initialization file from a prior installation, select the Use Previous Installation Settings check box, select the prior installation from the list, and click Next.
The Setup Wizard searches the destination directory that you specify. If the destination directory does not yet exist, the Setup Wizard asks if you want to create it. To:
Give the Setup Wizard permission to create the directory, click Yes. If you cancel the installation before it is complete, the Setup Wizard does not create a new directory.
Deny permission and then enter or browse for a different destination directory, click No.
Alternatively, if the destination directory already exists, the Setup Wizard then determines if the directory is empty. If the directory is:
Empty, the installation proceeds.
Not empty, the Setup Wizard asks how you want to proceed.

The options are:
Change directory – The Setup Wizard allows you to enter or browse for a new installation directory. Again, if you enter a name for a new directory, but cancel the installation before it is complete, the installer does not create the new directory.
Clean and continueThe Setup Wizard deletes the directory folder and all the content of the directory without making a backup. If you choose this option, before the installation begins, the Setup Wizard warns you once that it is about to delete the directory folder and all the content therein. Once the installation begins, you cannot cancel the deletion of the files.
Backup and continue – The Setup Wizard makes a backup copy of the existing directory. The naming convention for the root folder is appended to contain the version number of the directory that is backed up: aPriori_Old_bckup_2019 R1 SP2_89131.
If you cancel the installation before it is complete, the Setup Wizard does not create a backup copy.
