Moving from Testing to Production
These are the steps that need to be taken at time of the actual migration of the production system.
13 Prepare for the production migration by importing the upgraded database into the production schema.
14 Install the latest client software in at least one place, pointing to the production schema.
15 At this point in time all users should stop using aPriori. Any changes made in the older version of aPriori after this point are lost.
16 The following steps explain how to export the scenarios that have been created or updated since the database was exported.
Open version the old version of aPriori.
Select File > Export > Select Scenario(s)
On the left side of the search box under Time Selection, select From.
Enter the date you last exported the database. Leave the To field empty.
To find all scenarios that are new or updated since the date you entered until now, click the Find button.
Click the first scenario to select it, then press CTRL A to select all, then click OK.
17 Save the apriori.scenarios.ap file. The following steps explain how to import the scenarios into the upgraded database.
Open Version the new version of aPriori.
Select File > Import
Browse to the location you saved the apriori.scenarios.ap file that you exported from the old version. Select the file and click Open.
It imports those scenarios to the upgraded database, which completes the migration to the upgraded database.
18 Uninstall the old client software. You can use the uninstall.exe located in the aPriori installation folder or Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel to uninstall. If you do use one of these methods, please make sure that all the files have been removed. If they have not, delete them manually. You may also just delete the files manually without running the uninstaller.
19 Install the new version of aPriori in your production environment and connect to the migrated database.
