Prerequisites for migration

In addition to the items listed in General prerequisites, you must also have the following for the migration procedure:

• The source version of aPriori:

https://transfer.apriori.com/download/p/aPriori_<version>_migration_exp.html

• A database schema file compatible with the new version of aPriori:

https://transfer.apriori.com/download/p/aPriori_databases_<version>.zip

There are two database files: migrationdata for the master database and standarddata for additional deployment databases (if necessary).

• Hardware: The database migration process is data intensive. The exact system requirements necessary for the migration computer depend on the size of the database that is being migrated. It is important to test the migration with the machine that you use for the production upgrade, so you know it is capable. The computer must be on the same LAN as the database server. Any latency between the database and the client performing the migration slows the process down immensely.

Memory: 6 GB (possibly more for very large databases)

Disk Space: 2x the size of the database. Recommended: Solid State Drives (SSD) for faster performance.

Note: If the source release uses an encrypted connection, then for the updateCompatibleVersions script to work, the SSL certificate must be imported into the target client.
