Update – Test Environment

When you update, you perform the procedure twice:

• Once on a copy of your production data in a test environment so that you can evaluate the changes introduced by the update.

• Once on your actual production environment.

Note that when you are working on a copy in the test environment, if your installation includes multiple deployments you must take extra care to ensure that the deployment copies do not contain pointers back to the production environment. We provide notes at critical points in the next section to ensure that you address such pointers.
