Releases and Installation Types
This document applies to ONLY On-Premise installations. If you have purchased aPriori Professional for Cloud, these procedures are handled by aPriori.
Note: aPriori Professional Release 2019 R2 introduces a new Installer wizard. If you Some of the procedures are different than the procedures for prior installations of aPriori Professional.
This document covers the following types of installation:
Performing a first-time installation
Updating an existing installation
Updates/upgrades involve either a:
Maintenance (minor) release update to an existing installation. These typically do NOT include a database upgrade. (But sometimes they do.)
Major release update to an existing installation. These typically DO include a database upgrade.
Updates typically involve some of the same procedures as a first-time installation. When updating, you must also:
Run a compatibility script to ensure that updated clients are compatible with the database. All updates require this procedure.
Perform a database upgrade procedure to ensure that changes in the database schema are reflected. Major release updates typically require this procedure.
