Prerequisites
The Validation and Design to Cost tabs display information only if the current component has been costed in one of the supported Process Groups.
If you click on the Validation or Design to Cost tab while displaying an uninitialized (uncosted) component, aPriori displays the following error message:
“Please initialize the component by costing it.”
If you click on the Design to Cost tab while displaying a component that has been costed in an unsupported Process Group, aPriori displays the following error message:
“A Design to Cost view is not yet available for this process group.”
If you click on the Validation tab while displaying a component that has been costed in an unsupported Process Group, the displayed validation information is limited to information on uncosted GCDs: those that could not be recognized by geometry extraction and those that failed to meet the feasibility requirements for assignment to some operation sequence.
Use the Cost Guide to initialize the component with one of the supported Process Groups (if appropriate). See Initial costing: The Cost Guide for more information.
Note: The Validation and Design to Cost tabs work best when your Windows screen resolution is set to “100%” or “Smaller”. The details for accessing this setting can vary between Windows versions, but in general it can be found in the “Display” window of the Control Panel:
