aPriori provides administrators with the ability to define which users have specific permissions to access particular elements within aPriori. As an end user, you do not need to be too concerned about this capability other than to be aware of whether or not it has been implemented at your installation. This chapter describes at a very high level how Access Control works, and how it might affect your day-today use of aPriori.

If you are not sure whether Access Control has been implemented at your site, you may want to ask your system administrator. If it has not been implemented, then nothing in this chapter applies to you. If it has been implemented, then this chapter will help you to understand certain behaviors or error messages that you might encounter.
