Using roll-ups
An aPriori roll-up is a set of components — parts, virtual parts, assemblies, or other roll-ups. A roll-up is similar to an assembly; however, unlike an assembly, a roll-up:
Can include other roll-ups
Has no associated CAD component and process costs
Can include functional groups consisting of nested roll-ups
Note: Roll-up subcomponents are not CAD-connected and therefore cannot fetch new GCDs. This means that you cannot change GCD-related settings such as the progress group for a subcomponent, unless it is also open in its own tab. This only applies to roll-ups – subcomponents of assemblies can be CAD-connected.
