Locking the scenario of a part or assembly
You can lock an assembly to preserve a specific state of the assembly costs and prevent unauthorized edits at the subcomponent level.
Locking a component scenario affects the behavior of the application when refreshing GCDs or updating the CAD model. aPriori attempts to open and update any active scenario GCDs whenever a CAD model is opened or modified in the CAD system. If an active scenario is locked, the update is not possible, and you are presented with a window with the following options:
Open the locked scenario without updating.
Create a new scenario and update it with new GCDs. The new scenario does not become the official one, even if the original was the official scenario. The original scenario remains locked.
Pick another existing unlocked scenario and update it with new GCDs. The original scenario remains locked and unchanged. (Note: This last option is only available if other unlocked scenarios exist for the part)
Locking the official scenario of an assembly prevents assembly GCDs from updating and prevents access to all assembly-level edit commands. The Assembly Details tab provides a Locked column indicating the lock status of a scenario.
