Locking and unlocking scenarios
As a component design is evolving, you might want to capture the cost at particular stages and keep it without changing for future references. If you do not want any changes to be made to a particular scenario, you can lock that scenario to prevent editing.
Locking an assembly scenario does not lock the assembly’s subcomponent scenarios. Because the cost of active subcomponent scenarios can change, those changes are reflected in the locked assembly scenario costs. Create an assembly snapshot if you want to lock the assembly and all its subcomponents. For more information, see Using the Scenario Menu on page 1.
To lock a scenario
Do one of the following to lock a scenario:
Right-click the scenario in the Navigation pane and select Lock from the context menu.
Select Scenario > Lock Scenario from the aPriori menu bar.
Right-click a cost object on the Assembly Details tab and select Lock from the context menu.
The scenario icon displayed in the Navigation pane and on the component scenario tab changes to show that the scenario is locked. The Assembly Details tab also provides a Locked column indicating the lock status of a scenario.
Roll-up snapshots and comparison snapshots are locked automatically.
To unlock a scenario
Do one of the following to unlock a scenario:
Right-click the locked scenario in the Navigation pane and select Unlock from the context menu.
Select Scenario > Unlock Scenario from the aPriori menu bar.
Right-click a cost object on the Assembly Details tab and select Unlock from the context menu.
The scenario icon displayed in the Navigation pane and on the component scenario tab changes to show that the scenario is unlocked, and the scenario can be edited.
Roll-up snapshots and comparison snapshots are locked automatically and cannot be unlocked.
