The Production Info tab
You can specify the following information on the Production Info tab:
Select the process group from the Process Group drop-down list to make that group the default for subsequent new components.
If you need to modify the default VPE, click next to the VPE field to display the Virtual Production Environment Selection window.
The default VPE is specified by the selected process group.
Check the Use as default VPE for secondary processes box if you want secondary processes, such as heat treatments and surface treatments, to always use the same VPE as the primary process group, even if the VPE is changed.
If the secondary processes are frequently performed at a different location than the primary processes, uncheck this box.
If you need to modify the default material, click next to the Material field to display the Material Selection window.
The default material is either the MCAD material value or the VPE default.
Enter the number of parts to be produced in one year in the Annual Volume field.
Enter the length of the product life cycle, in years, in the Production Life field.
Select the costing method. Select aPriori if you want aPriori to compute the component cost. Select Manual and select the currency from the drop-down list to enter the component cost.
Select the batch size. This is typically one month’s production. Select aPriori to have this automatically calculated from your Annual Volume/12. Select Manual to enter a specific value.
Specify a value in the Target Cost field if you know how much you want or expect the fully burdened cost of the part to be and wish to compare it to the results of costing operations. (See Production Scenario Tab, Targets on page 1 for more details about how to use this value.)
Specify a value in the Target Finished Mass field if you have a weight goal for your finished component. (See Production Scenario Tab, Targets on page 1 for more details about how to use this value.)
