aPriori Cost Ticker icons and command buttons
The following table lists all the icons and command buttons available in aPriori Cost Ticker and explains how they are used.

Usage
Click this button to display system messages. The color of the Message button indicates the system status:
Green – the part has been costed successfully without errors.
Yellow – a warning has been produced during costing
Red – an error has occurred during costing
Close messages to return to the Cost Ticker.
The Cost Target icon is displayed only if the target cost for the component is set. You can set the target cost for a component by editing the component’s Production Info in aPriori Desktop, see Initial costing: The Cost Guide on page 1 for details. If the target cost is set and the current cost is:
Between 90% and 110% of the target cost, the indicator on the Cost Target icon points straight up
Less than 90% of the target cost, the indicator points to the left
More than 110% of the target cost, the indicator points to the right
Note You also can set the target mass (weight) for a component in the Production Info window, but the Cost Target icon only reflects actual vs. target cost status.
Click this button to expand the Cost Ticker.
In the expanded Cost Ticker, click this button to contract the Cost Ticker.
This button is available in Direct Integration mode only. Click this button to access the Geometric Cost Drivers (GCDs) options:
Select this option to refresh the GCDs from the CAD model and calculate new cost using the updated GCDs. Place the mouse pointer over this icon to see the date and time when the GCDs were last updated.
Note In CAD-Independent mode, this option is available directly from the tool bar.
Select this option to view the GCDs for the component. When you select this option, the Cost Ticker closes and the aPriori GCDs window is displayed. For details about GCDs, see Geometric Cost Drivers on page 1. To return to the Cost Ticker, close the GCDs window
Select this option to refresh the GCDs from the CAD model and calculate new cost using the updated GCDs.
Note In CAD-Independent mode, this option is available from the tool bar. In Direct Integration mode, this option is available from the GCDs Options menu.
Click this button to save the cost object and the displayed cost. If the displayed cost is not current, the Save button is not available.
This icon indicates that the displayed cost is current, which means that the component has not changed since this cost was last calculated. Place the mouse pointer over this icon to see when the displayed cost was last saved.
This icon indicates that the displayed cost is not current; the component has been changed since this cost was calculated. Place the mouse pointer over this icon to see when the displayed cost was saved. When the cost is not current, the Cost Ticker window is dark grey and the Save button is disabled.
Click this button to cost a component.
Click this button to switch to aPriori Desktop. For more information, see aPriori Desktop Basics on page 1.
